Romano Haynes
Romano Haynes (Rotterdam) is a well-known actor, performer, musician, and creator with a wide range of work across theater, film, and television. He trained at the Maastricht Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he developed a strong and physical acting style that moves between powerful stage performances and more intimate film roles.
Romano gained further recognition for his role in JAH! (directed by Dalton Jansen), for which he was nominated for the Theo d’Or for Most Groundbreaking Stage Performance (2024–2025). This important nomination highlights his ability to create bold, innovative, and deeply engaging work that goes beyond traditional genres.
On television and in film, Romano has appeared in productions such as Mocro Maffia (Videoland), BASTA, and Dit Zijn Wij. He continues to work actively in both commercial and artistic projects. This year, he will appear in the Videoland production BASTA!, where he will play Ruud Gullit.
Outside of acting, he is also a respected spoken word performer, with appearances at TEDx Amsterdam and various cultural institutions and events. In addition, he works as a workshop facilitator and teacher, focusing on storytelling, theater, and personal development.
