Watch the world through the eyes of a circus performer. Circunstruction #10 shows three previews of four promising young circus makers who give their own vision of the possibilities of circus. Circusstad Festival supports their research and helps these artists on their way to their first performance.

Natalie Miles – Figment
Set your chair centrestage and experience circus from within. Can you trust what you see and hear? Or do some things only exist as figments of your imagination? Intimate, playful and surreal, Figment is a visual and auditory experience which explores the sounds of the artist and her apparatus, the cyr wheel. Due to Figment’s unique take on circus, it also offers a special inclusive experience for people with a visual impairment.

Natasha Chauhan – Flux
 'As soon as you realize that you are alone, you have just found a companion to spend that time with'. Flux is a solo performance in which the theme of loneliness is explored through the artists self-named discipline, ‘eye-level-aerials’. Mixing acrobatics and aerial straps she finds both the light and dark parts of being alone as she tries to manipulate the space around her. As if an onlooker through a window to someone’s living room, you get a glimpse into this performers inner workings when alone. Watch as she finds her way through her thoughts and feeling which in themselves seem to be in a constant state of flux.

TOBI & FINN – Syncopate
Tobi and Finn are a club juggling duo who graduated from Codarts in 2021. In Syncopate they deconstruct the craft that they have been practicing together for the past six years. They take inspiration from musical concepts to investigate the many factors and details that make juggling possible. Syncopate is an invitation to take a closer look into Tobi and Finn’s very own understanding of the manipulation of objects, sounds, and their own bodies.
