Dear Doubts is a creation from Swedish/German company Revue Regret. The duo consists of Jakob Jacobsson & Lisa Chudalla, who are working together since 2017. The creation started in 2019 premiered in Recklinghausen (DE) during the Ruhrfestspiele on the first of june 2021. It's Dutch premiere will be during Circus4days at Maaspodium Rotterdam.
The 1-hour contemporary circus show explores regrets and their impact on our lives. A stroboscope-lit cyr wheel symbolizes repetitive memories, while a suspended body represents the question of identity without regrets. The performance delves into the darkness, portraying exhaustion and the limits we push before letting go.
A taxidermy fox prompts the audience about their own regrets, allowing anonymous contributions to the growing collection that shapes the show's setting. Choices entail trade-offs, drawing from endless possibilities. Each decision, a lasting imprint on us, is highlighted through the performance.
Dear Doubts is the letter we write to our past self from a point in time where we can evaluate the rightfulness of our previous decisions.
