Flirt Fantasies is about interpersonal relationships. About communication and about interaction or the lack thereof. Alienation from yourself and from the other is lurking. Especially if love is also involved.
The first eye contact… the thought “What do you think when you look at me?”
Then the game of love begins with all its rules and restrictions. The game of scanning, of seeking freedom, of overcoming uncertainty.
“I am a woman. I am more than my sexuality & gender…”. You want to propagate that, but you can't escape the question "What do you think when you look at me?"
The dancers of Misiconi Dance Company -with and without a mental or physical disability- not only test themselves, but also the audience.
About the makers
Misiconi: a dance company with inequality as its greatest asset
Misiconi Company is a dance company that shows an alternative reality in which inequality is the greatest asset. With artistically high-quality dance pieces, we play nationally and internationally with a mixed group of dancers in an equal collaboration. Misiconi Company focuses on the artistic collaboration between individuals, whereby a lot of attention is paid to how the individual can reach his or her potential within the collective. The company has a permanent core of dancers who work both on a project basis and structurally. Misiconi is colourful, quirky, interdisciplinary and diverse.
